State vs. Cheylana White

by | Dec 7, 2023 | Conviction Alert, news

Crawford County, Georgia. Cheylana White, 22, pled Guilty to Malice Murder earlier this afternoon in Crawford Superior Court for the shooting death of Daniel Jones, 52, in his own home. The State had been ready to proceed to trial on this case on December 4, 2023, before the defense announced White was going plea. Following the shooting White had taken Jones’ vehicle, cell phones and a firearm, which she later abandoned in the stolen vehicle. From cell phone data and witness statements, as well as discovering the victim’s blood on White’s shoes, law enforcement was able to obtain an arrest warrant for White. After her arrest White gave a statement implicating herself in the murder. For this Murder White was sentenced to Life in prison.

“I pray the Defendant’s admission of her acts can bring a measure of justice and closure for this grieving family. This senseless killing has had a major impact on this peaceful Crawford County community, and the Holiday Season makes these actions even more painful for everyone.” DA Howard
