JROTC Instructor Guilty of Child Molestation

Macon, Georgia… On March 25, 2024, Charles B. Jackson, 55, pled Guilty in Bibb Superior Court to Child Molestation, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, and Sexual Contact by a Person in a Position of Trust (1st Degree), for incidents stemming from his 2022 contacts with a minor female. At the time of Jackson’s explicitly inappropriate behavior with the juvenile victim, he was employed as a teacher in the local school system and was a Junior Officers’ Training Corps instructor at that school.

During the plea hearing, Assistant District Attorney Breanna Foster from our Special Victims Unit presented facts showing that Jackson’s felonious conduct with his young victim occurred on multiple occasions at both the school and a local church. She noted his victim had previously been molested by her father (who was prosecuted in another jurisdiction), and Jackson took advantage of her vulnerability, while in a position of trust with her as a schoolteacher. For his crimes Jackson was sentenced to 50 years, with the first 25 years to be served in prison. He will be required to be on Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.

It is so tragic when an individual who fought for his country and afterward goes into a position of trust for young people becomes the community’s worst nightmare rather than a mentor. It is vitally important that anyone who has information about such nefarious activities come forward to report them so that we, collectively, put a stop to those who would do harm to our most vulnerable.” DA Howard

The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office specially thanks the Crimes Against Children Division of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for all their investigation and assistance with the prosecution of this most disturbing crime.
