Sexual Predator Sentenced for Assaulting Three Women, Thanks to Victim Cooperation and Great Police Work

May 8, 2023, Bibb County – A sexual predator was sentenced for assaulting three women. Marquez Tukes, 34 years old, pled Guilty to three counts of Aggravated Assault with the Intent to Rape in Bibb Superior Court.
In the spring of 2021, Tukes lured three separate women into meeting up with him. In each case, alcohol was involved. In two separate cases, Tukes drove the women out into a field and physically forced himself on them. After these assaults, both women were able to fight him off and flee the areas. In the third incident, Tukes lured the victim to his residence and then forced himself on her. She, too, was able to fight him off and flee the residence.
Tukes gave nicknames or false names to each of his victims. Through Facebook posts, cell phone records, victim cooperation, and concerns from Tukes’ own family, law enforcement was able to identify Tukes as the attacker. Two of the women were able to pick him out from a photo lineup. Tukes’ DNA was also linked to two of the victims through sexual assault kits processed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
“Thanks to the three brave women who reported these sexual assaults and cooperated with law enforcement. The public will be protected from this sexual offender for decades to come,” said Anita Howard, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney. “Many thanks to all of our law enforcement partners for their tenacity in helping to solve these heinous crimes.”
Tukes received a sentence of 40 years to serve with the first 20 years in the Department of Corrections. He will also be subject to sex offender conditions.
