Bibb County Man Convicted of Malice Murder. Sentenced to Life

by | Oct 1, 2024 | Conviction Alert, news

Macon, GA – Today, Jeremy Bryant, 42, plead guilty in Bibb Superior Court to Malice Murder, Theft by Taking, and Concealing the Death of Another. The facts, as presented to the Court by Senior Assistant District Attorney Kyle Owenby of the Office’s Homicide Unit included that the victim, Randall Keith Head, was reported missing on April 27, 2020, last seen driving his red Chevrolet Cruze. Three days later, Head’s body was discovered behind a closed business on Mercer University Drive by two employees of the Macon Water Authority. He had died from multiple stab wounds to his neck.

Bryant was identified on hotel surveillance video parking Head’s car on April 26, 2020, before moving it to a hospital the next day. Evidence collected indicated that Head and Bryant had been planning a drug transaction, and Bryant was the last person to have contact with the victim. Thanks to a citizen tip into Crimestoppers, investigators were able to locate Bryant, and he was arrested. In a statement to the judge, the family of Randall Keith Head lamented his senseless murder and the void his loss has created among them. For this crime Bryant was sentenced to Life in prison.

“The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is particularly thankful in this case for the citizen who came forward to share information that led to the arrest of the person responsible for the horrific death of Randall Keith Head. Our Office cannot prosecute cases in a vacuum, and we know that often our community members have information that is very important to law enforcement. We commend this person for having the courage to speak up and speak out, which enabled us to bring a measure of justice to a grieving family.”  DA Howard

The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office especially thanks the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation of this case and their assistance with the prosecution of it.
