Woman Who Lured Robbery Victim to Hotel Sentenced to 25 Years

Destiny Boatman, 28, was sentenced by the Judge to 25 years, with the first 10 years to be served in the Department of Corrections, after pleading guilty on August 4, 2026, to Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Entering an Automobile. Jury selection for the case had lasted into the evening hours of August 3, and was to continue on August 4 when Boatman decided to enter her blind plea as court resumed that morning in Peach County.

On September 1, 2024, officers with the Warner Robins Police Department were dispatched to a home in Kathleen in reference to an armed robbery that had occurred at a hotel on Watson Blvd. The investigation revealed Boatman helped her co-defendant, Malik Grubbs, and two other men rob a male victim, who Boatman had lured to the hotel.

According to the facts in the case, Boatman answered the hotel room door and let the victim in, at which point Grubbs and the other two men ambushed him at gunpoint, taking his cell phone, wallet, and firearm. Surveillance footage showed Grubbs and the other men forcing the victim out to his truck, where they searched for additional items of value. Grubbs and the men then got into a vehicle that Boatman was driving, leaving the victim in the parking lot. Boatman later gave a statement to law enforcement placing herself at the scene at the time of the incident.

“Destiny Boatman used a vulnerable moment to set a trap,” said Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard. “She lured a man into a hotel room, let armed accomplices ambush him, and then drove the getaway car while he was left robbed, abandoned, and terrified in a parking lot. This was not a crime of opportunity. It was a calculated setup. Armed violence like this will be met with serious consequences. Her co-defendant, Malik Grubbs, will be tried separately at a later date.”
