Serial Probation Violator Sent To Prison Until 2041 After Carjacking And Jailhouse Stabbing

A pattern of escalating violence has finally ended in a prison sentence that will keep a Macon man locked away
for the next 15 years.

On March 25, 2026, the court granted the District Attorney’s Office requestion for probation revocation for Christopher Dewayne Bonner, and he was sentenced to the Georgia Department of Corrections until April 24, 2041.

Bonner’s criminal history in the Macon Judicial Circuit stretches back to a guilty plea entered on April 26, 2023, for aggravated assault arising from an incident on December 21, 2020. He received a 20-year sentence, with the first two years to be served in prison, followed by probation.

His time on probation was short-lived. On August 8, 2024, a victim was sitting in his car on Anthony Road in Macon when Bonner approached, leveled a firearm at him, threatened his life, and forced him from the vehicle.

Bonner then fled in the stolen car and crashed after a police pursuit. He attempted to escape on foot and was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Investigators recovered the firearm, a ski mask, and the victim’s belongings from the wreckage. Bonner has remained in custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center ever since.

Even the walls of the jail could not contain Bonner’s violence. On December 9, 2024, while already in custody awaiting the outcome of the carjacking charges, Bonner and others stole commissary from a fellow inmate.

When the victim confronted him, Bonner produced a shank and stabbed the man at least six times. The attack was captured entirely on video.

“Actions like these demonstrate exactly why our office pursues probation revocations with the same vigor as the underlying charges,” said District Attorney Anita Howard.

“The people of Macon deserve to be safe in their cars, in their homes, and even in our county jail.”

The revocation hearing was prosecuted by Assistant Deputy Chief Jeremy B. Johnson of the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
