MACON, GA – A meticulously planned marijuana transaction at a Macon hotel parking lot ended in gunfire and death. On Monday, October 20, 2025, the fourth and final defendant accepted responsibility for his role in the November 23, 2021, killing of Chauncey Love.

“This case represents a stark reminder of how illegal drug transactions can spiral into deadly violence in mere moments,” said District Attorney Anita Howard. “These guilty pleas ensure accountability for each person who played a role in this tragedy. My office remains committed to prosecuting those who bring violence to our community.”

District Attorney Anita Howard announced that Lucky Chiderah Udeh entered a guilty plea this morning before Judge Williford in Bibb County Superior Court, concluding a case that resulted in one man’s death and left a community searching for answers about a drug deal gone tragically wrong.

The incident began when Love, along with Dorian Pierce and McKenzie Phillip Scott, traveled from Florida to Macon to sell five pounds of marijuana to Jamir Kortez Culbreath and Lucky Udeh. Because the buyers and sellers were unfamiliar with each other, Isaac Adesina coordinated the meeting and brought Javacea Battle for protection.

Surveillance footage from the Best Western at 2400 Riverside Drive captured the events that night. After all vehicles arrived in the parking lot, Culbreath exited his car and entered the backseat of Love’s vehicle. A violent struggle erupted, during which Culbreath fired a handgun twice, fatally wounding Love. Simultaneously, Udeh exited his vehicle and pointed a rifle toward the rear of Love’s car, escalating the dangerous confrontation.

All four defendants have now taken accountability for their role in the incident. Culbreath, the shooter, previously pled guilty on August 15, 2025, to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. Adesina and Battle, who facilitated and provided armed backup for the transaction, also entered guilty pleas on August 15, 2025.
Sentences imposed:

• Jamir Kortez Culbreath received 40 years with 20 years to serve for voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.

• Lucky Chiderah Udeh received 20 years with 10 years to serve for aggravated assault.

• Isaac Adesina received 15 years with three years to serve for sale of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

• Javacea Battle received 15 years with two years to serve for sale of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

As part of their plea agreements, all four defendants are permanently banned from returning to the Macon Judicial Circuit.
