Convicted Gang Felon Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison on Probation Violation…
Previously convicted gang felon, Kaylen Devon Johnson, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for violating his probation on a 2016 charge of the Street Gang Terrorism Act. As a first-time offender, the court initially sentenced him to probation. On January 24, 2023, prosecutors presented evidence to the court that Johnson committed three new offenses including Possession of a Firearm by a First-Time Offender, Obstruction and False Information. In turn, the court revoked Johnson’s probation and sentenced him to prison.
“Gang violence is a serious threat to public safety in our community. Individuals who have committed gang crimes and continue to do so can expect no leniency from the prosecutors in my office,” said DA Howard
