A search that turned up hydrocodone pills, digital scales, packaging materials, thousands of dollars in cash, and two hidden handguns has landed a convicted felon a 20-year sentence. Oscar Abram pleaded guilty on August 4, 2026, to drug trafficking and firearm charges and was sentenced by the judge to 20 years, with 10 years to be served in the Department of Corrections.

Evidence found during search.
On October 20, 2021, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service executed a drug search warrant at Abram’s residence on Reese Street. The search followed several months of controlled buy operations by the Drug Unit, which had developed information that Abram was illegally selling pills. Upon entering the house, deputies detained Abram and located 56 grams of Hydrocodone, along with scales, drug packaging materials, and thousands in U.S. currency. Two revolvers were also recovered, despite Abram being a convicted felon who was legally prohibited from possessing firearms.
Abram pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. His sentence includes a $10,000 fine. Abram was taken into custody after the hearing.
“This defendant was selling pills out of his home while illegally armed as a convicted felon, a dangerous combination that puts our entire community at risk,” said Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard. “Thanks to months of patient investigative work by our Drug Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service, we were able to hold him fully accountable. This sentence ensures significant time in custody and years of supervision afterward, and it reflects our Office’s continued commitment to getting illegal guns and drugs off our streets.”
